Team

The people of Stable Road Foundation are committed to improving the lives of children and families around the world. We bring curiosity, passion, and commitment to our work.

Ed Freedman

Ed is the founder of Stable Road Foundation. His two great passions are helping people and protecting the natural world, which is why he started the Foundation in 2017. Since then, he’s dedicated himself to supporting communities on Maui and around the world.

Ed is driven by his commitment to people and the planet. The Foundation’s initiatives, like the solar projects, go beyond just power. By bringing computers and internet to remote areas, Ed’s vision offers children a gateway to limitless possibilities, ensuring they reach their full potential.

Having made Maui his home, Ed’s bond with the island is profound. The unique culture, rich history, and vibrant community resonated with him deeply, fueling his dedication to the local community. Through the Foundation, Ed’s hands-on approach sees him actively involved in diverse projects, always with the aim of uplifting and supporting his Maui community.

His role as a father, especially to a cherished daughter with William’s Syndrome, adds depth to his commitment, making each endeavor personal. When not engrossed in philanthropic work, Ed, an avid kitesurfer, cyclist, and yogi, basks in Maui’s natural beauty, cherishing moments with his family and the playful company of his two chocolate Labs.
